Our friends at WEBN Radio in Cincinnati, OH, called, and wanted some information on the Spirit of Edgar Allan Poe.  After some persuasion from our Spirit Workers and Their Associates we were able to gain the information requested, and, more.  We hope you will enjoy this interview which we are sure will surprise and shock you.

1.  How are you doing in The Spirit World, and what do you do there?

A.  Well, let me see, how AM I doing?  Well, I am constantly visited by harming ladies who wish me to recite my works to them.  I am asked to speak at major occasions and invited to visit the most influential individuals about.  I would say, all in all, I am doing quite well.  I could not say I have any serious complaints about my situation.  I find death somewhat more enjoyable than life, and have no intention of living again, if at all possible.

2.  Why did you change jobs so much in your lifetime?

A.  Let me just say my employers had a problem with my frequent absences and the condition I sometimes arrived at work in.  To put it quite bluntly, sir, I was a drunkard.  I believe that is the plainest way of saying it.

3.  What did you think of the movies made about your works, especially the one starring Vincent Price?

A.  Having never seen them I cannot really comment on them.  However, I have seen Mr. Price perform, and found him a competent actor.  I imagine his performances were quite good.

4.  Where did you get your inspiration from?

A.  Mostly from the agonies of the downtrodden and oppressed around me, and, from my own despair of the human situation.  I think my works reflected the character of my Soul, and my belief in the negative aspect of providence.

5.  Did you find dying as scary as the things you wrote about?

A.  I found dying a horror beyond anything I wrote about.  I found I had created for myself my own hell, which it took me more than forty years to work my way out of. If not for the kind Souls that tend such as me in The Afterlife, I would have probably been far longer in that misery I created for myself.

6.  Do you mean you found yourself in The Darkness of The Spirit World?

A.  I do not quite know your terminology.  What I found myself in was a constant delirium caused by my drunkenness during my earthly existence.
No, the place I was in I would not call dark, at times it was overly bright.  I believe you are referring to individuals who have done much to others.  I was not one of these.

7.  How did you get along with your wife and are you still together there?

A.  We got along fairly well, but I have not seen her for ages!  She has already had two lifetimes since our time together, and is now working on her third!  She is one of your kind, I fear, and relishes life's adventures, unlike I, who will most certainly do without them if at all possible!

We thank Mr. Poe for sharing this information with us.  If anyone has any further important questions for him he has stated he will return and answer them.  Submit any you have to the address on the cover, or our e-mail address; spiritist@yahoo.com
