A good friend of ours we met via the internet asked this question about Nazi
1 quite a while back and I have finally had a chance to give him the answer
to it. We thought we should include it here.
Spiritist if you ever talk with him again. I was curious why he attacked
Russia instead of taking Britian out of the war. What can i say? I'm a history
buff.
Greetings John!
I have been asked this question many times. In the course of the Work I did
with Nazi 1 I enquired about this. I thought it rather strange, too for him
to open a second front at such a strange time when he should have been putting
his full efforts into finishing England. He explained to me that this error,
fortunate for us, unfortunate for the Nazis, came about for several reasons.
1. He was being assured by his staff that Germany's air power alone, could
eliminate England. That the crossing of the channel would merely be a pleasure
cruise for the invasion force. By the time it left Britain would be on its
knees ready to surrender.
2. He was being given incorrect information by his intelligence service that
the Russians were plotting to attack Germany in violation of the treaties
that they had signed. That their best hope for a victory was to strike the
Russians first before their mobilization was complete.
3. Their military successes had been so many that the German high command
had come to think that they were invincible. That nothing could stop them.
They had become grossly over confident. They were hungry for more conquest
so were putting constant pressure on Hitler to act. All these things put
together caused him to make the decision to launch the unprovoked attack
on Russia that spelled the doom of Nazi Germany.
"Perhaps", Nazi 1 concluded, as we were talking about it, "The Dark One that
was controlling me allowed me to make this error to destroy Germany, to keep
it from being the dominating force in the world. We had served our purpose.
Now it was done with us. Perhaps this, too, is why I acted the way I acted.
Or, perhaps it had lost control of me, and I followed my own desires. We
cannot be sure, we can only know what my decision caused. That is all we
can know."
