Beginning at Jerusalem you are to bear witness of these things. Behold, I send The Promise of My Father unto you.
We will journey for a time, to Galilee, and then return to Jerusalem, remain here, until you are endowed."
So it was they went up for a time, into Galilee. Peter and Thomas went to their boats, again fished all night, and found nothing. When they neared shore Jesus again showed them where there were fish, and they caught a great number. They broght them to shore and had a good feast with all there gathered.
When the meal was done they all sat by the fire. Jesus said, "Peter, son of Jonas, do you love me more than these?"
Peter answered Him, "Lord, though I know my faults, I do love you, and will do all in my power for you."
Jesus said to him, "Feed my lambs." Jesus said again, "Peter, son of Jonas, do you love me?"
Peter answered, "Lord, you know I do."
Jesus answered, "Feed my sheep."
Then, a third time Jesus said to him, "Peter, son of Jonas, do you love me?"
And Peter grieved bitterly, because He asked him a third time. But he answered, "Lord, you know all things. You know how much I love you."
"Then feed my children. Truly, truly I say to you, when you were young you dressed yourselves and walked about wherever you would. But when you become old, you shall stretch out your hand."
This He spoke sanctifying the death He had suffered to glorify God. Then He said to them, "Follow me."
Peter looked about at all who had supper with them and said, "Lord. What of he that betrayed you? What shall THIS man do?"
Jesus answered him, "If I wish that he stay until I come, what is that to you? Follow you me."
Some of the apostles thought that this meant they should not die, but then they realised this was not what He had said, and began to understand.
They went out for a time in the boat to enjoy the stars. For they knew in a while they would return to Jerusalem and knew that He would soon leave them.
So it was they DID return. A great crowd of disciples gathered at the Mount. Jesus stood among them, for the last time, blessed them, and charged them again, saying, "All Power is give me in Heaven in Earth. Go you, therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of The Father, The Son, and the Holy Ghost.
Teach them to observe all things, as I taught you. Heal the sick, and cast out demons as I have commanded you to do. And where you are I shall be, also, even unto the end of the world."
With this a great Light shone around Him and He ascended into Heaven, being lost in the clouds. The people stood watching, not wanting to depart.
An angel appeared amongst the clouds and cried in a loud voice, "Why stand you there doing nothing? Why look you to the Heavens? Has He not told you to go and teach, to abide here until the Gift the Father has promised you is delivered?
Go you your way. When the time is right in like manner as He came before, He will come again, that all the world may find Eternal Peace."
The people, hearing these words, departed. As Demetrius was not one of the apostles, he made ready to return to Rome. Only the two Marys and their servants were with him, when there came a rap at his door. Demetrius opened it and the governor's wife entered. As soon as the door was shut she cast off her robe, revealing her nakedness, and threw herself at Demetrius' feet.
"Keeper of The Light," she cried, "Lord over Darkness! Spare me. Do not include me in the destruction that is to come unto my husband. I give unto you all that I am...my body, my mind, and my Eternal Spirit. I beg of you, that you treat them with dignity. Whatever you say I am to do, that I will do. But I ask you to be kind unto me."
Mary, Jesus' mother, came over, picked up the woman's robe, and covered her, saying, "Demetrius, show pity on this child, and assure her you will do her no harm."
"If you will serve me," Demetrius answered, "this is what you are to do for me. When we reach Rome you will be given an estate. There you will care for these two women and their security. As long as you see to them well, you will have nothing to fear from me."
The governor's wife rose. "Master," she answered, "I know who this woman is. To give me such a responsibility honors me. It does not punish me! I will serve her well."
Demetrius nodded. They spent a quiet night and in the morning went to depart from the city.
As they were going out, a hearvily robed man stepped in front of Demetrius, grabbed the front of his tunic, and pulled him closer.
"Demon of Hell!" he shrieked, "Make the dreams stop! Let me see no more of tomorrow!"
Demetrius jerked the man's hands free and shoved him aside. "High Priest," he snapped, "You have made your bed, now you must sleep in it. What is done is done. You had the opportunity to undo it, but you chose, instead, to put your own plans above those of your God. Welcome to Hell!"
With this Demetrius departed Jerusalem.
