THE SPIRIT OF JESUS TEACHES IN OTHER LANDS
Chapter Sixty-Eight
But as Demetrius and his party traveled back towards Rome he was aware by his own means, that Jesus was not done teaching on Earth.
For far to the west the people of Nephi were gathered. Their prophets and teachers had seen the Signs, knew that Jesus had come, even that He had been crucified.
While they were gathered Jesus descended amongst them with a voice crying from Heaven, "Behold my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased, who has glorified My Name. Hear Him!"
Jesus stood before them, stretching out His hand and saying, "Be not afraid. I am He of who the prophets testified should come into the world.
I am the Light Of The World, The Life Of The World. I have drank out of that bitter cup which The Father gave me, and have glorified The Father by becoming the final Sacrifice that the world would need.
I have done The Will Of The Father in these things from the beginning."
The people bowed down and praised God that Jesus had come to them before He ascended fully unto Heaven.
Jesus bid them to come to Him, feel His wounds, to know that He was truly the One who had died for the world.
It came to pass that many there came forward, their eyes beheld and their hands knew that they might bear witness to what the prophets had written.
The people praised The Most High, falling down at the feet of Jesus to worship Him.
Jesus called forth Nephi, and he came before Him. Nephi fell down and kissed the feet of Jesus.
Jesus commanded him to arise and stand before Him. And Jesus said to him, "I give unto you The Power that you shall baptize the people when I ascend into Heaven."
Jesus called other good and understanding men, blessed them, also, and gave to them the Power to baptize. Then He spoke to them, saying, "Truly, I say to you that he who repents his sins through your words and is baptized in my Name, in this Wisdom shall you baptize them.
You shall go down and stand in the water and in my Name shall you baptize them. There are new words that you shall say.
Calling them by name, saying, 'Having authority given to me by Jesus I baptize you in the Name Of The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.'
Then shall you put them down into the water, that they be covered so not one part of them is not above the water.
In this way shall you baptize in my Name, for truly I tell you that the Father, The Son, and, The Holy Spirit are one. I am in the Father, The Father is in me. We are one.
As I have taught you, so shall you baptize. There shall be no argument among you from this moment forth as to how you shall baptize.
I shall teach you what is true. Henceforth you shall not argue over these things, either."
Now, Jesus stayed there with them for some time teaching them all that He had taught His disciples to the east, and, some special things that were for them, alone. For He knew the Hours of their nation were numbered.
And when He had done all that He could do for them He called the twelve He had chosen unto Him, and spoke to them saying, "Go out unto all the nations and teach what I have taught you. And if you do so though the flesh shall pass away, the Darkness will never come upon you, and you will not know death.
And if you teach the people all that I have given you, they, too, shall find salvation through the words that you give them.
Be not afraid of kings and princes, of lawyers and judges. Be afraid, instead, of God, and do what God commands. For God is greater than all of these.
Do not think I tell you to deny all authority, I do not. The righteous shall you obey in all things, but the unrighteous shall you not obey. For you have no place with the unrighteous.
Better you lay down your life and the life of yours before you obey the unrighteous and destroy your immortal Soul.
Many will come to me saying 'Lord, I have served you. I have done the will of your servants.' But I will show them the unrighteousness they have done in my Name. And they will go away weeping, for there will be no place for them among their brothers and sisters who have believed in me and followed my Way.
I ask you in The Father's Name not to be numbered among this company, but be numbered among the righteous that shall share eternity forever with their Blessed Ones, and be honored before The Throne Of God.
Many will sit in the shadows licking their wounds, and weep that they have not what you have. Listen to the council of wise men. Reject the council of evil.
If any man says to you 'I am of Jesus, obey me! Destroy all who will not follow the way,' know you surely he is not my brother but my enemy, and I will send The Destroyer, The Merciless One, The Thunder And The Lightning to destroy him.
Do not be counted among those who shall be destroyed with him, but be counted among the righteous and the good who protected the innocent, and sheltered the weary, and even suffered death before they would do evil.
