34  Muhammed picked a good place, surprising the enemy would not be possible.  But he put his back to a great cliff and formed his ranks before it.  The enemy would have to climb a steep hill on two sides, to reach them.  And the ground before them was not good, either!  Muhammed and his people would have the advantage.
35  They settled down to wait, but they did not have to wait long.  In the afternoon when the sun was in their faces the Meccans appeared, formed ranks, and attacked!
