PRAYER

1  Now, my beloved, at least once a day you should spread your mat, face my birthplace, for there is no other place that is sacred to you, and give your prayers to Allah, so He may know what is right with you, and, what is wrong with you.
2  And husbands and wives should pray together, side by side, and their children with them.  All that are in a house should take time to be involved in prayer.
3  If a person is too old to get out of bed or too sickly the members of the family should gather around this one and pray with them, that they may be fortified with Allah's Strength.
4  It is good that an hour be selected when all the people together pray, for this strengthens your bond with Allah.  Some prefer to pray in the morning, some prefer to pray when the sun is high, others prefer to pray in the evening.  All of these are acceptable as long as at least once a day a person prays.
5  At least once a week, especially on the sabbath, a father should take his family into the temple, the eldest of his children who can show proper homage.
6  The youngest will run to and fro and cannot stay obedient, shall not be taken.  Only those children who are obedient and can show proper respect should be taken into the temple.
7  And the husband and his wives should spread their mats beside each other in the temple, and hear what The Elder of the temple has to say, and then should give their prayers.
8  The sabbath should be remembered, but where the people of Israel celebrate the sabbath at its beginning, and its eve, you, oh beloved, should celebrate the sabbath at its rising with the returning of the sun, so that when you are in the same places there will be a difference between you, for though you are brothers and sisters Allah has given Israel a different time that He may hear their prayers separately.
9  And this is good, a good parent gives all of his children special times when he is with them, alone, so that they may feel especially tresasured.  Now, if a man does this for his children, surely Allah will do it, also.
10  And as you pray, beloved, touch your foreheads to the ground three times, saying this; "Allah is merciful!  Allah is just!  Allah is wise!"  This is how you are to begin prayer, my beloved.
11  And you are always to end prayer with "No matter where I go, no matter what I do, let Allah be with me."
12  If you do these things in prayer, my beloved, you will be well with Allah.  Be well with Him always.

FASTING

1  Now, my beloved, my joy in Allah, I must speak to you of fasting.
2  Now, this is how you are to fast.  In the days you are fasting you shall eat no flesh of the beast. You shall eat only the grains of the fields, and the fruits of the fields, and that which hangs on the trees.
3  While you are fasting anything that comes out of the Earth is acceptable.  But no flesh of the beast, whether it is the foul of the air, the beast of the field, or, that that comes out of the waters, during the times of fasting you shall partake of none of these.
4  And what you do partake of you will partake of in moderation.
5  And these are the times when you shall fast, oh beloved of Allah.  The week before the Passover you will fast to show your solidarity with your brothers and sisters of Israel.  Then, at the Passover you shall have a great feast of celebration for their deliverance and, yours.
6  A week before The Day Of Christ you shall fast, contemplating The Power Of Allah, and The Sacrifice Of Christ, His Blood shed for you that you should never have to shed blood again.
7  And on The Day Of Christ's Birth you are to have a glorious celebration for your redemption.
8  A week before The Sacred Month you are to fast, contemplating all the sorrows Allah has delivered you from, and then on the beginning of The Sacred Month you are to have a great feast, and sing and dance for Allah, and show your joy for all that Allah has given you.
9  And each night of The Holy Month, The Tales Of Glory are to be told.  And the people shall sing and make merry, to honor Allah and all that have served Him.
10  And these are the times you shall fast, my beloved.  These are the times you shall keep Allah's Glory, and be humble before Him.
