Everybody keeps asking us "What would it be like if I went to a performance
of Beatles & Friends in The Afterlife?" Well, let
us try to give you an idea of what an average performance would be like.
As the theater was filling or, the arena, or wherever the performance
was being held, an orchestra would be playing old Beatles
standards, probably going through virtually everything they'd ever done.
The orchestra would stop playing and depart the stage. Beatles
& Friends would come out and take their positions for the first
hour of the performance.
John Lennon would stand up to his microphone and cry
out, "Are we ready to have some fun?" The audience would scream "Yes!"
in reply. John would cry "Then let's do it!" and they would
go into the first number, which would have been "Stand Up!"
but now is their new theme song "Soul Beat," 4:10. Then John
would ask the audience "Was that o.k.?" and the audience would answer
"Yes! Yes!" "Then, here's another!" John would cry. Then they
would go into "Stand Up!" 3:00. John would then ask
the audience "What do we gotta do besides stand up?" And the audience
would answer, "We've gotta stand together!" and the band would go into
"We
Will Stand Together Here, As One!" 4:62.
Then, John would ask "Why are we doing this?" and the audience
would answer "Because we care!" And the band would go into "Care"
3:34.
John would then ask "What does Heaven need?" "Heroes!" the crowd
would answer, and they'd go into "Heaven's Heroes" 4:17. Then
John would ask "What else do we need?" and the audience would answer
"Our mighty men!" and the group would go into "Let Me Be Your
Mighty Man." 2:37. Before John could even say anything after
this number, the audience would cry "Remember it! Remember It!"
and John and the group would go into that number. 3:55.
When they're done with this number John asks, "What else do we have
to remember?" "The springtime!" the crowd screams, "The springtime!"
The group goes into "Remember The Springtime" 1:51. John again
asks "What else do we have to remember?" and the audience answers,
"What we're fighting for!" and the group goes into "It's Heaven
That We're Fighting For" 4:44. When this number is done John
asks, "Is there anybody that they shouldn't make mad?" and the crowd
answers "Heaven! Heaven!" and the band goes into "Don't Make Heaven
Mad" 5:39. John then asks "Who's our heroine?" and
everybody answers "Alura! Alura!" and they go into that
number 3:08. John then asks "Who's our darling?" and the audience
screams "Mary! Mary! Mary!" and the group goes into "Our
Darling Mary" 4:48.
John then asks "What's going on?" "Some weird stuff!" the crowd
answers, "Some really weird stuff!" and the group goes into "Weird
Stuff" 3:34. John then asks "Where'd all this start?" "England!"
the crowd answers, "England!" and the group goes into "England
Rocks" 2:38. John then asks "Who started all this?" The
crowd answers "The King! The King!" and the group goes into
"The
Man From Memphis" 4:20. John then asks "Why aren't we famous?"
and the crowd answers "Because you won't! Because you won't!"
and the group goes into "I Won't Bite That Bat!" 3:44.
With the end of that number John and the others go to the front of
the stage and bow. "We're gonna take a break!" John cries.
"But some nice people are gonna take the stage for about an hour.
Please be as kind to them as you've been to us." "Only if we ain't
lost yet!" the crowd cries. John and the group go back to their
instruments, do "We Ain't Lost Yet!" 2:18. When this number
is concluded Beatles & Friends leave the stage and the
break group comes on. This could be anyone popular to the area where
Beatles
& Friends are performing, from the ensemble group of The
Angelic Choir, to Bach, Beethoven & Brahams Plus One,
the next biggest rock group in The Afterlife, to a very popular group called
The Zombies. There's just too many to list here! But
these groups all do about an hour of old Beatles favorites
before Beatles & Friends return to the stage for the
third hour of the performance.

We have been catching it from Beatles & Friends' fans in The Afterlife! Some of them are absolutely irate, especially King John's fans. We forgot his solo in this description. He does a rendition of "It's Not Easy Being Green," in which he substitutes "It's Not Easy Being King." It's a great number, the audiences loves it! Everybody thought we were slighting King John because of our previous experiences with him. Nothing could be further from the truth. King John is a major part of Beatles & Friends, and the group would seriously be lacking without him. It was just an accidental omission. Too many things to do and not enough time to do it. We sincerely apologize to all Beatles & Friends fans and especially King John's! We don't know exactly where his number is placed but it is in the first hour. We hope all involved will forgive us, and let this little slight pass.
