Got a comment that needs to be answered.  It went "Well, these military people that wanted Bush praised couldn't have been from those that were killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.  They sure wouldn't want Jesus praising him!"  Well, as a matter of fact, the entire committee that came to Jesus was made up of individuals that had recently died in Afghanistan or Iraq.  That's what  struck Jesus most about the petitioners!  Most of them had suffered in the spiritual dead zones before reaching The Afterlife, but still when they found out what was going on, how terrible conditions are, they, as a body, recognized how important their mission was, how righteous was their cause, and They have all come to support Their President fully and completely, and They are very upset with those in the material world that are criticizing him because of their loss.
One young man especially asked Jesus that his mother be forgiven for her bitterness towards the government and President Bush because of his loss.  "I was a soldier," he comments, "I was fully aware of the risks that being a soldier entailed and willingly accepted them because I love my country, and, the world.  It is wrong to criticize my Commander And Chief because he had us doing what was right to do!  What saddens us most is it took the world so long to do something, that so many suffered before we acted.  We understand the grief of our loved ones because we are separated from them, but they should understand that because we died in a righteous cause eventually we will be reunited with them.  They should stop grieving for us and return to supporting what is right."  This young man asks to remain anonymous, but I think his words are from all who have served and died in a righteous cause.
There is a great deal of debate on how the proposed Constitutional Amendment banning gay marriage should be worded so I went to Jesus and asked Him.  "Well," He remarked after some consideration, "perhaps something like this.

It is ordained and confirmed by the majority of the citizens of The United States Of America that that which is referred to as homosexuality is a sickness that is sometimes also called sodomy.  It is the understanding of the majority of Americans that this sickness is not a religion or, a race.  It is also recognized by the majority of these citizens that marriage between persons of the same sex is unacceptable.  Nor is civil union between persons of the same sex acceptable.  Anything that gives two people of the same sex living together the privileges of a married couple is totally unacceptable.  Only the male/female partnership is recognized as a true and sacred union by the majority of the people of The United States Of America.  Nothing else, in any form, should be permitted.  Open homosexual acts in any form should be forbidden.  Sexual contact between two adult consenting individuals of the opposite sex should be the only sexual practice deemed acceptable, because this is what the majority of the citizens of The United States find acceptable.  All else does harm to those performing these acts and everyone in their vicinity.

That, dear Demetrius, is the wording I would want in this proposed Constitutional Amendment, clear and precise language, as to what it is we are fighting for."  It's perhaps a little long, but I think Jesus has the idea, don't you?
Jesus' temper lately is bothering everybody, especially anyone who falls victim to it. Yesterday a group of Iraqis asked audience with Jesus.  They wanted Him to support amnesty for the members of The Baath Party.  Everyone warned them this was a very bad idea, but they were determined so Jesus received them.  When they were done speaking Jesus answered, "No!  Never!  After what I have seen none of them can be given mercy, none of them can be given pardon.  Demetrius and Muhammed have shown me unspeakable horrors that cannot, under any circumstances, be forgiven.  Leave me now.  I am upset that you have even brought this proposal before me!"  "But Lord," one of the representatives spoke up, "they were the ruling party!  They had a right to maintain order.  What could you have seen that was not justified by that right?"  Jesus turned upon the men in a rage.  "What have I seen?" He screamed, "What have I seen that justifies them receiving no mercy?  I will tell you what I have seen!  I have seen men, women and children dragged from their homes and thrown into the backs of trucks.  I have seen them dumped like gravel in fields, the men sorted out and shot in front of their women and thrown in graves.  I have seen the young babies ripped from their mothers arms, seen the clothes ripped from young girls and even young boys, and then seen them brutally raped in front of everyone, then murdered.  Then I have seen these foul creatures pick up the crying babies from the ground, throw them live, into the graves, and have the bulldozers cover them over as they screamed and cried!  Don't tell me these people were justified!"  Jesus screamed, "Don't tell me that could ever be justified!  Get out of my Kingdom!  Get out!  Get out! And stay out 'til you have a conscience, 'til you have a soul, 'til there is decency in you.  Get out of my sight!"
The man's companions grabbed him and quickly dragged him away.  After a time Jesus was reminded that the man had been given permission to speak.  "That is so," Jesus answered, "that is so.  I lift my expulsion but no one, absolutely no one is to ever stand before me and say that these creatures of Darkness were in any way justified!  No one is EVER to do that again!  Nothing, NOTHING can justify what these animals did!  No one is to ask me that they be pardoned again!"  "Yes Lord!" Everyone answered. "It will be made known to all that no one is to ask that they be pardoned again!"  It's too bad these things happen, it's too bad people don't have a little common sense.  This poor soul sure wishes he had.  He may be months recovering.  Right now he's in shock, can only stare ahead and tremble.  Very few can withstand Jesus' rage, very few!

 Jesus is still very disappointed that everyone has forsaken Him, that no one will answer His calls in The United States and rise against the abomination that is threatening to destroy the entire world.  This battle against homosexuality is not just a battle for decency, it is a battle for survival!  It is a battle to save the human race.  This attempt to corrupt mankind is part of a plot to destroy it, the plot that must not succeed.  Jesus continues to ask "Where are my true believers?  Why do they not come to me?  Why have I been abandoned?"

Where we are discussing holidays on The Old Worlds was there anything to compare with Independence Day in The U.S., The 4th Of July?  Again, strangely, no!  None of The Old Races shared this idea of Independence.  They celebrated just the reverse.  Each society had a Unity Day where They celebrated the unity of Their Peoples, that all of Their societies, despite Their differences, had gotten together and were working for the common good of all.
The Havens had no idea of the principle of independence.  It was a frightening and almost blasphemous idea to Them.  Each individual person was a servant of the state, a servant of God and did what was good for everyone, not the individual.
The Hashons believed in individuality, but They, too, believed that the greatest service was to society, and that independence was not of too great a value.
The Peepians allowed a great deal of diversity, but They, too, believed that the greater service was to the state, the people, and not the individual.  By no means were individuals mistreated in Their society, but those who did not desire to serve were looked down upon by the rest of society.
 No, an Independence Day would have been totally unthinkable to any of The Old Races!
