Kerry was a man who thought he could be President!
Along with Edwards for Vice President he was the Democratic candidate.
He kissed a lot of babies, and he told a lot of lies.
But he couldn't be The President no matter how hard he tried!
1. The people there in Washington they couldn't figure out,
From one minute to the next, just what Kerry was taking about!
He'd say something was stupid, then that's just the thing he'd do!
But everyone remembered he held another point of view.
2. Edwards thought he'd get the votes because of his nice smile.
He had a southern accent that had brought many through their trial.
Some things he didn't think about while dreaming of victory flags unfurled,
Many thought he was too young, and the voters weren't all girls!
3. Kerry spent a lot of money praying it would get him to the top,
But people didn't want him, they were sick of the old flip flop!
He lied about The President, and didn't make much sense.
In the end the voters proved that they really weren't so dense!
4. The Democrats are crying now, to them the future looks so grim!
Kerry, he conceded when his chances were really slim.
When history it is written one small paragraph will be his part.
People won't elect someone President just because of a purple heart!
