Chapter 1
PROFESSOR RED SPOT OF THE BLUE CIRCLE CLAN didn't like having his skirt trimmed. He thought it a rather
barbaric practice. Standing on a pedestal and having a young
female caress his lower extremities while she worked made him
quite nervous! When she asked if he wanted the flap of his
couplles trimmed he immediately said no!
"Oh, come now, Professor!" the young female cooed,
"If anything should happen we're quite used to it. It's
nothing uncommon."
"It might not be to you," the Professor answered,
"but it most certainly is to me."
"I have heard," the young female continued, as she
began to apply wax and buff him, "you are unattached. My
brother was killed in the fighting. I have inherited our family
shelter, with the death of my father. It is such a big place for
a little female all alone. There would be room for a magnificent
male such as you and several children! I must say, you are a
magnificent example of our male hood!"
"Young woman," the Professor remarked, "I know
things have changed, and females often present the proposal, but
I am of the old school that the male should ask and provide.
However, I am greatly honored that you think me worthy to share
your shelter. I will keep you in mind, and when I am ready for
fatherhood if you have not found another I will most certainly
express my interest in your proposal."
The young female bowed. "There!" she continued,
"All done!" As she did so she slipped the card from her
utility belt and slipped it into the Professor's. "So you
may know where to contact me when you are ready," she
remarked. "Is it true they are preparing another attack on
the invaders?"
"I am not sure," the Professor answered. "If I was
security would not permit me to answer. The last three attempts
to regain our territory have failed. Our warriors did much
damage, destroyed many of the invaders, but sickened and died in
the place the invaders have created. I am in hopes of seeking
aide if the counsel would approve. I have perhaps said too
much." He took two silver wheels from his utility belt and
put them in the young woman's hand.
"That is twice the fee!" she remarked.
"The rest is for the compliment," the professor
answered. "Good day!" He made his way out of the
facility, grabbed the local cable and headed for the intersection
where he could pick up the cross city cable. As the young woman
had said, he was a splendid example of his people's malehood. But
getting his twenty foot bulk around was not the easiest thing,.
Sometimes he did wish that he was a minor male. But the genes to
be maters were strong in his family. He went from cable to cable
picking up speed, then reversed the process to slow down, letting
go outside The Chamber Of Elders. The guards did not even
challenge him as he approached, but maneuvered away, giving him
access to the Chamber.
The Elders were within, and The High Elder spoke before Red Spot
even fastened himself down. "Your proposal, Professor,
troubles us. You want lathium to reactivate the power generator
the transdimensionals used for their gate? Are you sure we know
enough about running the generator to reactivate it? Our people
were not allowed to touch it when the transdimensionals ruled
us."
"The transdimensionals," Red Spot answered, 'have been
back in contact with us. They seem to be much more civil now. The
reports of the invasion trouble them. They can't help themselves.
But they told us of some who might be able to help us, some among
the great warriors that defeated them, some of whom were
creatures of the air like us. They are sure if we called on them
they would help us. Though they are having many difficulties
themselves right now, they are a people that abhor conquest, hate
conquerors. Without lathium I have no hope of generating enough
power to make the gates work again and contact these warriors.
The invaders have spread their domain again, taken more of our
world. We are helpless against them! Unless we find help they
will slowly take all our world, and we will become a forgotten
species. The choices is yours. Let me summon help or watch our
world die!"
The High Elder looked to his companions, all of whom shared his
look of despair. "It appears," he finally commented,
"we have no choice, we have to give you what you want."
Another Elder spoke up. "To give a deviant our most powerful
substance," he argued, "greatly disturbs me."
"I do not like being called a deviant!" the Professor
snapped. "That I have refused your advances in no way makes
me a deviant. There are many others who disapprove of what you
desire. Are our people to be sacrificed because I will not
fulfill your perverted lust?"
"Outrage!" the councilman screamed, "Outrage! He
has no right to make such insults, to degrade me! What I desire
is perfectly normal. That he will not accept any companionship,
male, or, female, is the perversion!"
"Enough!" the Elder snapped. "The council chamber
is not the place to argue such matters! I agree with the
Professor! His personal life is his business! As long as there is
no criminality involved that is now what matters! I wish to hear
no such complaints again, in the chamber! The Professor will be
given all he needs to reopen the
