It is Our most profound desire that you contact the government of France and make the proposal to them that they seek 2,000 volunteers among these Muslims to form a military unit to assist in the liberation of Georgia, to fight under the colors of France as citizens of France, defending the liberty of the world. That they equip these forces with the necessary small arms for them to engage in this effort, and that France also provide an able vessel, a destroyer, also manned by Islamic Frenchmen to take part in the naval operations of this campaign under the French colors. If you were to present this proposal to the French government on Our behalf We would be extremely grateful.

Volunteers On The Old Worlds
As We continue this effort to raise a volunteer army to liberate Georgia, Gerald is asked "Were these things done on The Old Worlds?" Well, not among his people, not among The Havens! It was a military state, and everyone was required to serve in the military services. There were no consciensious objectors. If you refused to serve you were burned alive with your ffamily. No form of dissent was allowed. Any protest of any military campaign meant certain death. Everybody volunteered! They were afraid not to!
Among The Hashons such volunteer groups were quite common. Oftentimes retired service personnel who wanted to have one more time in the field would volunteer for a hazardous mission. Auxillery troops would ask to be rotated to the front to replace those there so they could come back and rest. To The Hashons volunteering, doing one's duty, was a part of glorification. The people never had any trouble raising enough forces to defend them.
The Peepians were the same way. Though certain groups didn't like to fight, when it was really made known to them that They were needed, They would join the battle. That is what made them so tenacious. And, the fact that in Their one solar system They had a population equal to a fourth of The Empire. We still can't figure out how they crowded so many people into so little space and kept from killing each other! But there was no problem raising volunteers on The Old Worlds, no problem at all!
