Saturday Gerald took us and our friend Elgard to dinner at our favorite Chinese buffet restaurant after Elgard gave us a ride to get our monthly printing done at Staples. Then Elgard took us for a long ride in the country despite the high gas prices, and after that to see the new movie "The Hulk." It is one awesome movie! Everyone in The Afterlife that could took a break to watch it with us. We were surprised to hear the demons even took time off from the spiritual fighting everywhere to watch the movie! We highly recommend it! What a fantastic day! Gerald wishes so much that he could get one of these companies to make one of his stories into a movie, perhaps "Trouble In The Past" With the modern special effects that would be a great story!
Sunday Gerald sent his 34th letter to First Lady Laura Bush about the teams of young people God wants us to send around the country to psychically examine some people.

Also on Sunday Gerald sent a special email to The Pope on behalf of Tim Russert's family in The Afterlife asking him to pray for him, that he might change his mind and make the denouncements he needs to make and enter The Kingdom Of God. We didn't think there was any hope of this but we're here to serve the good so we passed the word. Here's the link. voicesfromspirit.com/campaignletters/Gerald/geraldtothepope3.htm

REMEMBERING CHARLIE

My memory is Swiss cheese. Sometimes somebody will ask me a question and I won't have an answer. Then, days later something will happen that will bring everything back clearly and distinctly. I used to know this judo or karate throw that would dislocate somebody's shoulder. Linda asked me where I'd learned it, and I told her I'd read about it in a book. Well, that wasn't quite true. We were reading an article about stay at home dads a few days later when a whole bunch of memories came flooding back.
I used to have an odd job business when I was a kid from the time I was 13 to the time I was 17 and went into the Army. I'd work a few days here and a few days there during the summer and sometimes in the afternoon in the fall. One of my first customers was Charlie. His wife worked and he stayed at home and farmed around the house, and took care of the kids. He was one of my first customers and got me a lot of work with a lot of other people. Charlie had a neighbor, Jeff, who I also did a little work for but made it very clear that while I was working he was to stay away from me. One day I was working for Charlie when I heard screaming and hollering from Jeffs and went over. He was out in the yard with a much bigger guy and the guy was beating him up, screaming "You don't talk back to me, you do what I want when I want it!" I went over and broke it up. The guy told me what was going on was none of my business and to stay out of it. I told him to cool it, he was told to leave, and he would leave.
Then the guy made a big mistake. He punched me. That was not a smart thing to do in those days because I had virually no control. The next thing I knew Charlie had me in a choke hold, the guy was on the ground moaning and crying like a baby. Charlie was screaming "Calm down, Gerald! Calm down! That's enough! You've made your point! Calm down! He's got your message!"
When I had my wits back he sat me down, picked the guy up and told him to get out of there and never come back, made sure Jeff was all right, then came back to me and made sure that my injuries were just minor. "My God, Gerald," he commented, "where did you learn those tecniques?"
"I read them in a book," I told him.
"I thought you couldn't read!" Charlie inquired.
"I can a little," I told him.
"Well," Charlie continued, "the tecniques you were using are moves that are intended to kill. We've got to teach you some less lethal ones, and teach you to get a little bit more control. You lose your temper far too easily. And with even the little bit of skill that you have that's dangrous!"
He taught me several less dangerous moves, including the shoulder throw, and also taught me a little bit of meditation. And some of the people I worked with later taught me some more stuff. Fortunately I'm too stiff and slow to use most of it any more.
I hardly knew my father, but over the years I had the fortunateness to meet a lot of very good men that filled his place, and taught me a lot of things. A year or so later some guy made a comment to Charlie's wife about him and Jeff in a store. Let's just say Charlie's temper was not as bad as mine, but the guy still ended up laying on the floor!
Yes, I haven't had much formal education, but over the years I have had some better teachers than found in any universities.
