As we were writing these stories about two people confiding in me about their strange sexual problems in their youth Linda reminded me of another incident where someone had confided in me about a strange sexual problem. It was many, many years before either one of those stories.
I did odd jobs for many years when I was young. One of the people I worked for was a contractor, big husky man, deep voiced, no question whatsoever that he was a man, considering the problem his wife had with howsome of his customers paid their bills when they were short of money. But we were talking about stuff one day and when no one else was around he said "Gerald, I'll tell you something because I know you'll keep it confidential. Some men not only have big feminine looking breasts, some of them work."
I said "What?"
"This is no bull," the man told me. "Whenever my wife got pregnant with one of our kids her hormones reallly affected my breasts! They would swell up and start to give milk! I have actually nursed all my children, not just my wife. Of course I only did it when they were real little, and they couldn't remember. My wife did it after that. But you can't understand what an horrendous thrill it is to give your children life, to give them nourishment from your own body! I know it sounds crazy, and probably some people would think it was kind of perverted. But it is the most incredible and wonderful thing! And as God caused it to happen I think it is perfectly natural."
"Wow!" I commented. Later on when I remembered this story I started doing some research on it and actually found some medical reports on condition, that said it was not that uncommon, and many scientists believe that in pre history it may have been far more common, that if both parents could nurse the child and sustained it, it would have a much better chance of survival than if only one did, that originally womens' breasts might have been quite a bit smaller and the male's nourishment may have necessary to sustain their child! This might be what causes some men to do this today.
This is really interesting stuff, and shows how we have evolved over the ages to fulfill certain purposes, the female taking more and more responsibility in caring for the young, giving the male more freedom to provide for the family . It's a strange world, and some of its strangeness is fascinating!
