IMAGINATION'S PLACE
The Conclusion Of This Story
Somewhere she saw a dim light and swam for it, struggled for it. Shw
pulled herself up, somewhere, and the numbing cold disappeared. As she approached
The Light she wanted to run towards it. In the distance she saw people gathered,
waiting for her....men, women, teenagers, young boys and girls.
Francine stopped, her hands began to feel her body and she realized she
was naked. her body felt strange. Places she touched hurt. She wanted to
look down at it but something inside her told her what she would see if
she did. She knew she couldn't go on. she knew she couldn't face those people
waiting for her. She couldn't answer the questions they were going to ask.
She retreated into The Darkness, curled up on the ground and began to cry.
"God help me!" she pleaded, as she rocked back and forth.
"No one can help you now," came a gentle voice from out of The Darkness,
"Only you can, but it will take time, it will take a LONG time."
Back in the material world a mother stood looking at the hole in the ice,
then turned to the being standing beside her. "Thank you for coming," she
uttered in a trembling voice. "Did she survive? Did she make it to The Other
World?"
The Being nodded. "She still has Eternal Life," he told her, "but if she
had gone much further, if she had sacrificed much more, that which she is
would have been destroyed forever. What you did was hard, but it saved her.
Some day she will journey with you again and understand how great was The
Gift you gave her this day. She will understand how great was your love.
I had best depart. The others are returning."
As the Being rose skyward and disappeared the woman looked once more tothe
hole in the ice. "'Til we journey again, my child," she whispered, "'til
we journey again."
