Lord God, "it is like a filling of your mind. You are there, The Holy Spirit is there, you are one; all is peace, all is joy. There is nothing that one can describe to explain its greatness. "The Lord God jumped to his feet. "Come!" he snapped, "Come, now."
20 Moving quickly, he led Morn through the Palace to The Great Temple that stood beside it. Morn had never been beyond The Inner Court before the veiled chamber that held The Holy of Holies, but this time The Lord God led him straight through, up the steps, and held apart the curtain so he could enter. Startled priests looked on in astonishment.
21 Before Morn stood a stone structure, half-again a man's height, and about twelve feet square. On the side facing them hung a curtain of woven, golden mesh. The Lord God pointed to the threshold. "Put your toes against that," he ordered, "and keep your hands at your sides. Don't touch anything."
22 Morn obeyed and The Lord God pulled back the golden mesh. Inside was a beautiful throne, carved of a wood Morn had never seen. The walls of the room, the ceiling and floor, were covered with gold plates, each carved with strange pictures. "That is where I sit," explained The Lord God. "That is where The Holy Spirit touches me."
23 Morn cleared his mind as his mother had taught him. He reached for the Spirit inside The Holy of Holies, and on the throne it suddenly appeared. Morn wanted to scream, he wanted to turn and run, he wanted to be sick, all these things at once, but he controlled those desires.
24 The thing in The Holy of Holies touched him. He did not let it feel his fear. He did not let it know that he saw through its disguise, that he could see it for what it really was. He only let it feel wonderment, pride and joy, that his father let him see such a wonderful thing. The thing believed his deception and withdrew, satisfied.
25 "Come, son," insisted The Lord God, "you've seen enough." They withdrew back through the Temple, and Morn excused himself. Returning to his apartment, he threw himself
