Morn put the computer chips in his viewer. The first one was called "LIGHT; THE DIVINE HISTORY OF SPIRIT. THE HASHON'S SACRED WRITINGS." The second was, "THE LAWS AND STATUTES OF THE HASHON REPUBLIC: A SPEAKER'S GUIDE." The
third was a miniature library containing one-hundred Hashon books translated to Goddek. There was poetry, philosophy, anything Hashon Morn would need, and every bit of it illegal.....certain death to be caught with!
35 Morn put two of the chips back into the secret compartment, but put the Sacred Writings back in the viewer and began to read. The next morning he was awoken by his day guard coming on duty. Morn would be glad when he reached Academy and would no longer have a shadow wherever he went. He suddenly realized that he had fallen asleep reading! The incriminating chip was still in the viewer, but the viewer had automatically shut off when it had received no command to advance after several minutes.
36 Morn removed the chip and put it in the holder of his personal computer. "It would probably be," he thought, "one of the safest places to keep it." He would put an entry code on it later, so no one else could activate it but him. He punched in the code for the shipping information center, and asked what ship was leaving for Hades.
37 "The only ship bound for Hades today," announced the computer, "is the Wayfarer, private freighter carrying passengers and assorted cargo. Passenger spaces still available in both noble and common class. The Wayfarer is a plus six freighter and will make the journey in approximately four months. Thank you for your call."
38 As the screen went blank, Morn walked towards the door. "Come on," he ordered, "we're going up to the ship tending station. " The Guard was puzzled but followed Morn to the transport beam.
39 At the station Morn simply sat down by an observation window and watched the Wayfarer. She was a new model freighter that could carry sixteen cargo pods, not one of
