81 "Unexplainable, sir," another voice answered. "Their race should
have some limited telepaths, but this one is a grade six by our scale.
You're only a five- and-a-half, Commander!"
82 "I'm fully aware of my status, Science," the alien Commander
answered, "Let me see his readings."
83 A Medic arrived on his command deck and began to scan North. He sat
the scanner down, opened a kit. "I'm going to have to cauterize those
blood vessels, sir. I'll give you a local, then get to work."
84 North nodded, still listening to the other conversations aboard the

85 "Amazing," continued the alien Commander, "your name is North, is it
