and made himself comfortable.
16 A couple of times during the night North woke up, or, half woke up. Each time the Doctor calmed him and got him back to sleep. North did not remember those bad dreams clearly. In them he was fighting horrible monsters, that tore and pulled at him from all directions.
17 But the last Dream was vivid and clear. He came to a strange door in a foggy place in which was hung a strange, shimmering curtain. He passed through the door, and found himself outside a beautiful city that looked like the Capitol, but a short distance away was another city that looked virtually the same.
18 Suddenly he heard shouts, and running to the top of a hill he saw two armies fighting on a battlefield. Among the combatants he saw his father. Drawing out his sword which he was wearing, and taking up his shield, he charged into the attackers. They seemed to flee from him as if they were terrified and soon the two armies parted, returning towards their own cities.
19 North's father came up to him. "What are you doing here, North?" he asked. "This is no place for you, not for many, many years yet!"
20 "I'm not sure where I am," explained North, "but what was going on? Why were those people attacking you?"
21 "This is Haven's Spirit World," explained North's father. "That Capitol over there is where those Haven Spirits that still believe in The One True God live. This Capitol is where the Spirits that have rejected him live. Every once and a while the true believers attack us. It's a useless gesture. They really can't hurt us. One of us is equal to ten of them. We could easily drive them into The Darkness if we wanted to."
22 "Why don't you?" asked North.
23 "Because in their way," continued his father, "they're good people. They had to be to live a decent life and escape The Darkness. They just haven't learned
