"they're my Security Guard. They're not far away
anywhere I go. It gets to be a nuisance most of the time, but it's
something you have to put up with."
54 "Why do you need a Security Guard?" Sweet Cloud asked.
55 "My first year out." North explained, "I had the unfortunateness to
stumble on some illegal activity in supply command. After that, The
Lord God thought it appropriate I have some extra security."
56 "My brother said you had a reputation for getting things done,
that you and Morn ....I mean Commander Morning Star, are the hot shots
of The Fleet, the two young Officers that will eventually be Admirals,
or, better."
57 "Perhaps," laughed North, "that's why I have the extra Security."
They boarded the fishing flier and strapped themselves in. North's two
Security Men took positions near them. The ship's open sides gave them
a clear view of the harbor as she maneuvered out for open water.
58 "Ladies and gentlemen," announced The Ship's Commander over the loud
speakers, "I will remind you that the quota this time of year is two
Silverbacks per person, and three Gold Stripes. Double Fins are out of
season, and so are Broad Tails. And, watch out for the Dolphins. It's a
five-thousand credit fine if you wound one, twenty-thousand if you kill
it.
59 There are lockers for any gear you leave on board under your seat.
Kindly do not lose the magnetic keys! There is a twenty-five credit
charge if you do! The weather is clear, the reports from the shallows
is that the fish are up and feeding, so you should have good hunting.
60 Watch out for the sharks. Don't get too low to the water. Remember,
some of those damned things can jump five feet or better! That's all
I've got to say. Enjoy
