53 "The end of The Empire," continued North 2. "That is your strongest
desire. Your exact PLANS I do not know. Though I do know you have a
vast Rebel Movement, which I will gladly serve ....which HE would have

54 North 2 choked up, and moisture appeared in his eyes. North put his
hands on his shoulders. "I understand," he comforted. "Go with these
Officers. They'll see to you. I've got to have some time to think a
little."
55 North 2 nodded and left the command deck. A while later North
ordered all the prisoners taken to the ship's large theater where he
could address them together. He got North 2 and headed for the private
quarters of the ship's owner.
56 "Is Blazing Comet like you?" asked North. "Does she control him,
too, or is he a willing part of this thing?"
57 North 2 laughed. "Not exactly! He used to play with us when we were
children and we were almost grown before he showed us his secret. I
can't explain. I'll have to show you."
58 "PLAY with you?" asked North.
59 North 2 smiled. "No, not that way," he continued, "games. He was
the first one to suggest that everything she wanted was not right."
60 They came to the doors of the lavish apartment and the guards pulled
them open, as they neared. Two other guards stood inside watching their
charges on a large couch. North 2 walked over to Blazing Comet, getting
his wife's furious stare as he did so. He knelt down beside the smiling
