and eliminating the threat that he would cause more losses.
10 North accepted the reasoning. As they left the conference room, a
Communications Officer ran up. "He's dead!" he cried, "The
Lord God's dead! It just came over the Imperial News Channel! He died a
few hours ago. His successor has already entered The Holy Of Holies,
even before they buried him! They've sent an open command to all their
ships….no more attacks, to take up and maintain defensive positions!
11 North was both joyous and sad. He had not hated The Lord God
personally, only the system, but he wondered how Morn was taking it.
The Lord God, of course, was also his father, who he had once loved
very much. For Morn it would be harder.
