and those who remained retreated in blind panic.
9 Dropping his sword and shield North fell to his knees and picked up
his dying friend. He didn't need a Medic to tell him there was only
moments left. "Thought you weren't gonna make it!" Morn gasped, as
North cradled him in his arms, tears running down the Haven's cheeks.
10 "What's this?" questioned his old friend. "Remember we agreed we
would never weep for one-another?"
11 "Sometimes," answered North, "agreements can be broken."
12 "There is no need to grieve," assured Morn, "I will always be with
you. I will always be at your side with all of Those who have fought so
valiantly for what you believe."
13 "For what YOU believe," moaned North, "I am only your shadow, your
fire, your sting. Without you I am nothing. Without you I would have
BEEN nothing. You are The Light Of All The Worlds, and now that Light
is going out."
14 "As long as you bear that Light," Morn argued, "as long as you carry
it high I will live on. And you know I do not die, I merely go to be
with my mother, your mother, and, your father.
15 We cannot win the battle with both of us in the material form. One
must take on the spiritual. I have known that for many years. Now the
Time has come. There is no grief, no pain. I fulfill my Destiny. Now,
GO! Your troops are in trouble! They need you!"
16 "I can't leave you now!" North pleaded.
17 "Will you disobey my last order?" Morn asked. "Will you deny me my
last honor? I tell you, my brother, GO! Go without fear. Go with all
the fire you possess, and do that that you have waited thousands of
years to do. Your Hour is at hand. By the time you reach The Holy Of
Holies I will be with you. Now, OBEY ME!"
