154 Mountain Glory looked at Gray Boar, went in
the house, and put on the mating gown. When she came out the ceremony
began. When it was done, tables appeared and dancing began, and a
banquet was served.
155 "Well, at least for our mating," said Gray Boar as they danced,
"you don't have that damned pistol!"
156 "For this," sighed Mountain Glory, "I'm off duty! By the way, how
did your tests go?"
157 "Fine," answered Gray Boar, "on the way back, if that three-engine
monster will get us high enough, you can talk to Swift Dog back in
Northern."
158 "It really works!" stammered Mountain Glory.
159 "It really works!" smiled Gray Boar. They said their good-byes to
everyone, climbed into the plane, and flew homeward.
160 That evening Mountain Glory was the happiest woman anywhere, but
the next morning as she picked up the papers she got a strange surprise.
161 In bold headlines she read, "FAMOUS WITCH BUYS AILING CAR MAKER.
GRAY BOAR, THE RENOWNED INVENTOR, HAS PURCHASED THE AILING COMET AUTO
WORKS, AND ITS PLANE-MAKING SUBSIDIARY. 'Public can expect exciting new
vehicles by the next season,' says Factory Manager. 'We are in
conference already, and the new owner's ideas are exciting. I am sure
the public will be delighted, if the preliminary sketches I saw
yesterday become finished cars.'
