and he wrote it down.
89 "Go play with the other children," Gray Boar suggested.
90 As soon as the girl had left, he called her mother. The woman was
shocked that her daughter had come to him, that she was even still
asking about her father and brother. She told Gray Boar all that had
happened.
91 "I see," said Gray Boar. "It is hard to tell a child something like that, I know. But I think she's old enough, now,
and she SHOULD know. She should see her brother again. It MAY help him."
92 "I don't know if I can," the woman wept, "but I'll try, I really
will try."
93 Some days later as Gray boar was walking down the hall, a group of
children came charging down it, followed by Mountain Glory. Sweet
Blossom Crow was among them and stopped.
94 "My mother told me," she said, fighting back tears. "I've seen my
brother. They take good care of him. I never want to know my father's
name……….ever!" She turned and ran after the other children.
95 "What was that all about?" asked Mountain Glory.
96 "You never want to know," sighed Gray Boar as he walked on down the
hall. "I wish I didn't, and I wish she never had.....I wish she never
had!"
97 A short time later a Committee made up of members from every Land in
The Republic came and spoke with Gray Boar. "Lord," they said, "each
Land in The Republic has its own song from ancient times, but there is
not one song for all the Lands, and many people feel there should be, so that
when all our fighting people march together in parade and into battle,
there may be one song for them to march to."
98 Now, Gray Boar thought for a moment. "This," he agreed, "is not an
unreasonable idea. But how do we select such a Song? Who will write it?”
