89 Bay Blossom looked at the floor, and took on
the appearance of an innocent young girl. "I'm not going to take any
precautions, you know. I swore I'd never do it because it would
interfere with my career but I'm going to have your children."
90 "Before we talk about children," insisted Thundering Dove, "we'd
better talk about something else....a little visit to The Temple, a
piece of parchment that has to be signed."
91 "If you wish to make it official," agreed Bay Blossom, "put down
whatever you like. I will accept it."
92 "Stop acting like an awe-struck maiden!" snapped Thundering Dove. "I
know you better! If you intend there be children, and that should
occur, then something happened to me, my heir will not have to fight
for its estate. Its inheritance, little as it is, will be unquestioned.
And, if there's land grants after this war, it could be worth quite a
bit."
93 He had finished strapping his leg guards when she walked over to him
and kissed him. "Let me pretend a little while," she pleaded. "I know,
without a doubt, I will be treated only with honor. That was proven to
me last night. Though I still think you consider me a bit of a whore!"
94 Thundering Dove took her by the shoulders. "Look into my eyes," he
snapped. "Don't you EVER say that again, even in jest! You have never
been, nor, would you ever be a whore."
95 "Yes, my Lord," she giggled.
96 "Don't be sarcastic!" continued Thundering Dove.
97 Bay Blossom pulled away and stood back. "I am not being sarcastic," she snapped. "Allow me the privilege of paying
the homage I feel is due."
