98 Thundering Dove smiled, and she answered. Picking up her helmet, she remarked, "We'd better get some breakfast. I don't know what your plans are, but I've got to make a deep patrol. The enemy's up to something, and I want to know what it is before he springs it."
99 "I'd better come along," insisted Thundering Dove. "I want to see the lie of the land. I'm working on an idea and I want to see if it's practical."
100 "Their defenses are about a half a day away. It'll be late by the time we get down there and get back," cautioned Bay Blossom. "We'd better get moving."
101 When they went down for breakfast they were seated side by side and the servants called Thundering Dove "Master," and Bay Blossom "Lady," but he sensed a certain resentment. The man who had lived in this house before had been something special, but any man, thought Thundering Dove,that had lived with her, would have to be special! He would have to earn the servant's respect, and, he would do that, in time.
