I will put my name to it. And there shall be
peace."
149 So it was that Thundering Dove's battles were concluded. Within
months they pulled out of Charity, and ten more months later, exactly
one year after the treaty was signed, the last of Spirits ships left
Truth's harbors, and sailed back for Fo. There, Thundering Dove and Bay
Blossom Hawk were given a hero's welcome, but Bay Blossom slipped away
from the crowds and went to Little Blossom's house.
150 When they were alone, Bay Blossom opened her robe and put Little
Blossom's hand on her belly. "It is time, sister," she announced, "that
you come home!"
151 A month later Thundering Dove took his second mate. Not quite a
month after that, Bay Blossom's child was born….the first of five!
Little Blossom was always a bit behind, but in the end she had the last
word; she had six! But nobody minded. They were all the children of one
happy house.
152 But this was all in a time coming. There was only ONE child with
them as they journeyed to Northern to receive the awards and grants to
be distributed among those who had fought in the battles.
