will learn your language and customs. But she can
tell you now, she will want no other man. She will learn how to please
you! You will love her. Already, she loves you!"
101 The woman smiled and The Hawk couldn't help smiling back. He had a
strange feeling she was right! As The King and
his daughter turned to walk away The Hawk called out, "Hey, wait a
minute! What's her name?" To The Hawk's surprise, The King and his
daughter talked for
several minutes.
102 "Her royal name," explained The King, "is too complex for your
people. She asks what is your favorite flower?"
103 The Hawk had never thought. What WAS his favorite flower? Finally,
he said "The Mountain Glory."
104 "Moun-tain Glor-y?" the woman repeated. Then she nodded.
105 "You have named her," The King agreed. "From this day forth she is
Mountain Glory. I believe that is a flower of exceptional beauty. Yes,
quite appropriate. She will be ready to leave. By the way, when are you
leaving?"
106 "I think we'd better start out in two days," The Hawk announced.
107 "That will barely give her time to pack her dresses!" argued The
King, "But she will be ready. Shining Serpent is
very good with your language, better than me. I'll have him start
teaching her tonight, if he gets back from his errand!"
108 "What errand?" inquired The Hawk.
109 "A little affair of honor that had to be settled with his former
commander," The King explained. "I decided to let them fight it
out....less messy than a trial."
110 "But what if the other man wins?" asked The Hawk.
