every battle by remarkable means, but instead They teach us to use our
strength and our wits. And They save Their Power to Light The Darkness, to save

wise, and why are some foolish? Why do some believe in gods and all
kinds of foolish things, like this superior race thing, of The Epons?"
47 "Each race," began The Hawk, "is like a child. When it is young, it
believes any foolishness it is told, every ridiculous tale, every foolish thing that comes along
it accepts as truth. But just as a child grows in wisdom, so does a
