72 "For now," The Old Fox answered, "there is none. The Creeping Death has always been a curse for our people. Some people are born with little soldiers in their bodies that destroy its germ immediately, but some people have none of these soldiers at all, and the moment they come in contact with the little animal, it begins to attack the body.
73 You can only treat the patients as you have been, and keep searching for some way of fighting the disease. In the meantime, anyone that does have it should leave their home, and live separate from their families. The house where they lived should be filled with the smoke of sulfur, and the clothes of everyone that lived there thoroughly washed."
74 "I understand," the Surgeon agreed, "I will recommend this to all my patients."
75 "That is all I can give you for now," The Old Fox told him. "I am weary. I must go to my bed."
76 "You have given me much," said Gray Serpent, "and I am grateful, and I will do as you say."
77 So it was that Gray Serpent and Roaring Turtle followed The Old Fox's advice. They joined their knowledge, and brought together many other Surgeons and Herb Healers. Together they bought two houses near The Old Fox's home, and started a School for Healers there. The Symbol of their School was a medicine vile with a Surgeon's scalpel and needle and thread crossed in front of it.
78 Now, most of the Healers of this School became Worshippers of Spirit, and their fame was known everywhere. For none were allowed to wear the School's Symbol unless they were thoroughly skilled in their craft.
79 The news of their Healing and of Spirit's Healing Power brought many to The Church. For the people said, "If these Spirits can teach such wonderful Healers, They must be wonderful, indeed!"
