in which there are many mansions. I go to prepare
a place for you. If I go and prepare you a place, you know, on the
appointed day, I will come for you, to take you there. You will dwell
with me forever.
33 As you will be lonely after I am gone, wondering about me, fearing
that you lack my Power, I will send you a Comforter, a Holy Spirit, a
part of myself that will dwell in each of you, and give you power and
glory.
34 It will take a time for me to arrange this with my Father. So tarry
here a few days, and await its coming. But when it has touched you,
and you are filled with its glory, return you to those places you have
been given and do my will."
35 With this, golden wings appeared on his back. They spread wide, and
he was lifted up. Shining with great Light, he soared into the Heavens.
The people stood for some time, watching.
36 There appeared on a cloud, a man in great raiment, and he cried
out, "Foolish people! Why do you stand looking into the sky? Did he not
tell you that at the appointed time he would return and take you home?
Go your way. Live your lives, fulfill your Destiny until the Trumpet
sounds for thee."
37 Most of the people departed except for The Chosen Ones, which The
Teacher's Traveling Companions had come to be called. They tarried in
the village for several days.
38 Then, one afternoon, the clouds took on a strange color. The sky
danced with light, a strange wind blew through the village. The Chosen
Ones came out into the square to view the wonder, and as they stood
there, balls of light descended from the sky, one touching each of
them, and disappearing within.
