20 They retreated to a safe position many miles away and Thundering
Boar nodded to his brother. "The plane is corning in now," announced
Gray Boar. "Do not watch the city, itself. The flash will blind you.
Watch the television screen instead. You may go outside and watch the
rest as soon as the blast is over."
21 The Scientists of The Oneness were amazed with this new device
Mountain Glory Boar had developed. They were still
having trouble with advanced radio. They could hear the
bomber overhead, and heard the Pilot call that the
bomb was away.
22 A few moments later, a bright flash filled the t.v. screen and they
rushed outside. A strange, mushroom-shaped cloud was rising above the
city. It was a blazing inferno. Buildings were destroyed miles from the
city. Cameras that had been set up in the city, itself, didn't function
any more, but those further away that still did, showed the horrible
destruction with their long range lenses.
23 "As soon as the fires go out," announced Gray Boar, "members of The
Black Death will go in to recover the test animals. I wouldn't suggest
anyone else going in. The radiation levels will kill for days. We are
not sure how long before it will be safe to enter the ruins. This
experiment should tell us."
24 The Scientists of The Oneness were silent, and The Priest of Priests
turned to Gray Boar. "What," he demanded,
"are your terms?"
25 "You will surrender," he announced, "lay down your arms. You will
leave all of your equipment intact, nothing is to be destroyed. You
will allow our fighting people to enter your defense lines and take
them over.
