32 "But, my beloved," argued Sorrowful Dove, "the enemy has the river barricaded, we cannot get down the river."
33 "My beloved," the woman answered, "do not argue with me. There is no time. My moments with you are almost gone. Believe in Us, trust in Us, do what I ask you to do.
34 I have looked upon the lady," she laughed, "that you have chosen to be with you. She is worthy of you, and will be a fine sister when we are together in That World To Come. Treat her well, my love."
35 Softly she began to fade. Sorrowful Dove reached out for her, but she was gone. "What is it," he asked, "that The Lords intend? Whatever it is, I cannot take time to question it."
36 He rushed up the hill and called everyone together. They listened to his story with great wonder, then, without question, went to work gathering anything they could find that would float. They began to build rafts, and gather what meager provisions they had left.
37 By the time morning came, they had withdrawn and were high above the river. Below, they saw the enemy troops massing, filling the beaches, unafraid to show themselves because they knew the defenders had no artillery left.
38 The first of them had started to enter the water, when from the distance came the sound
