"That is sacrilege," cried the child of The One, "our god has said every part of us is precious, even the skin we shed every year is part of his glory!"
"Of course it is," said The Child of Spirit again. "If we did not shed our skin we could not grow. That is the way of things.  But why keep each shedded skin in a box to be buried with you?  If a man lives fifty seasons, he'd need an awfully big box!" The other Children of Spirit laughed.
"Our god made all things," the child of The One continued.   "Everything he made is precious.  Our old skins are laid on the bottom of our coffins and if we die somewhere far away, and our body is lost, they are buried in our place, so on The Great Day of Awakening, in The Beginning of The New Life, we will have flesh that our great god may make alive again, and purify so we may dwell in The New World he shall make, forever."
"Foolish child!" continued the girl of Spirit. "Your god taught true.  The New World he speaks of is The Spirit World.  The New World of perfection lies beyond The Veil of Death.  There, these bodies of flesh will be useless to you, and will only hold you back. That is why we burn our old flesh when its job is done, and pound our bones to dust, and mix the ashes and dust in the ground of our family's Sacred Land.
These bodies will not rise again after they've laid for hundreds of years in the ground, been eaten by worms and turned to dust!  It is our Spirits that will be born again, and, your Spirits. Your god taught many Truths, but your priests have twisted those Truths into something beyond reason, beyond reality.  What you say makes no sense."
"Our god made all things," argued the child of The One, "to him nothing is impossible.  If he could make all the world, and all that exists at The Time of The Awakening, he can make us new bodies out of the old, bodies that are pure, incorruptible, that will never die.
"There is nothing," continued The Child of Spirit, "in the material world that can be incorruptible. All things must age, die, and be born again, to make way for the new.  That is Natural Law.  That is Sacred Truth.
Look in these window boxes.  Here, alone, are one-hundred different kinds of flowers. In the mountains are thousands of kinds.  Look at this bug. He has brothers and sisters beyond counting.  Could your god have made all of them?  Does he keep track of every one?  Does he count the hairs on their legs?  No being, no matter how powerful, could do all you say. It would be beyond the realm of reason.
It is not your god that holds the stars in the sky, but Natural Law.  It is not your god that makes the water flow down the mountains into the lakes, it is the weight of the water. The answer to all mysteries cannot be 'It is the will of my god.'  There must be a Law, a reason for all things.
Tell me this, child of The One, if your god made all things, where did HE come from?  For before he could make anything, he would have to exist. If there was nothing before he made it, how could HE be?"
"Our god always was," answered the child of The One, "and he always will be. Some of his mysteries we can never understand, but that does not mean he does not exist."
"Your god does NOT exist," continued the Child of Spirit, "he is only a shadow in your mind.  Everything that is, always was, and, will be.  Nothing is ever destroyed, the form of its existence is merely changed.
As long as you do not accept that Truth, you will live in shadows, worshiping that that does not exist, trying to chase away your fears, when you only have to accept The Truth to be free."
"I AM free!" screamed the child of The One.  "It is you who are enslaved, deceived by demons to believe lies and worshiping them.  You are a fool, and will always be a fool.  I can teach you nothing.  It is a useless cause.  Keep your Spirits, go to hell; who cares?"
The young man rose angrily, and walked off. The children of The One often could not stand the Logic of Spirit.  It tore apart their fantasies and exposed the weakness of their faith. That, they could not bear.
The Voice was amazed that a girl so young could command The Wisdom of The Lords so well.  He had seen Speakers that had trained for years who could not do as well.  The Power of The Lords was most certainly in this girl!
As she rose to leave he spoke. "Young woman, may I have words with you?"
The girl turned, politely bowed. "To speak with The Voice of Our Lords," she announced, "would give me the greatest honor."
"Then, you know me?" inquired The Voice.
"My father pointed you out to me in the marketplace," the girl answered. "I listened to you instructing the crowd."
