23 "Look," said one of his captors, "we don't want to harm you. If you
tell us what we want to know we'll get you safely out of the city, to a
hiding place, where you can live out your days in peace. But if you
DON'T tell us, you know what we'll have to do! It's up to you."
24 "But if they find out I betrayed them," the man argued, "they'll
kill me."
25 "If you don't, WE will!" the other answered. "I don't think you've
got much choice."
26 The man agreed. "Alright! The two that did the actual shooting are a
couple of Lovers. They're always together. One wears fancy leather
clothes all the time, looks real he man. The other's small, dresses
real fluffy, women's stuff. Always talks sweet. They always hang out at
that Lover's place near the pistol factory; The Dancing Crow."
27 One of his captives nodded. "I know them. I see them almost every
night. Who paid them?"
28 "The manager of the radio factory. He's the big drug dealer in the
city. All their stuff comes in as parts for the radios. You've been
really cutting into their business, and they didn't like it. Now that's
all I know... swear. You've got to keep your word and protect me. I'm a
dead man right now if they find me!"
29 "They won't find you," promised one of his captors, "we've got a
nice quiet little village up in the mountains where you can spend the
rest of your days, and there's plenty of work, but we warn you, step
out of line once, cause one bit of trouble, and you'll be in The
Darkness before you can worry about it, understand?"
30 The man nodded. They snuck him out of the city to a place of safety,
then captured the two
