13 "We'll make it soon!" Creos promised, and headed off. I still marveled at him and Airs' little contests. Airs was getting native women by teaching their people battle tactics to use against their neighbors, but as fast as he'd teach somebody something, Creos would teach their neighbors something that would make what Airs taught useless! To the natives it was an interesting game, but if it got out of hand it could be dangerous, it could be very dangerous! But some of Airs' children looked very promising, two, especially, called Ajax and Achilles. Even as children they are showing great skill, outdoing all their companions. But I am afraid Creos is right. We are not going to be able to establish a thriving colony here. We are only going to be able to leave behind our genes to benefit future generations.
