THE FOUNDATION OF A TEMPLE
By; Speaker Gerald A. Polley

Someone asked the other day why we don't profit from our work. Why do we do what we do? What is our purpose in this world? Couldn't we establish our goals better if we charged a good price for our services, if we charged a higher fee for our magazine?
The answer is this...we do profit in ways that the greedy cannot understand. Christians say we are laying up treasure in Heaven. Buddhists would say we are cleansing our karma. Every article we print for someone outside our own faith, every interview we give to someone of a different religious persuasion strengthens the unity between the different groups in The Spirit World, makes faster the bonds that are beginning to help us work as one as we never have before.
To make VOICES so expensive that the people that it is intended to reach cannot afford it, would defeat its purpose. VOICES is meant to bring understanding and joy. It is meant to help our Children understand that they have never been forgotten, that they will never be alone. Only the ignorant attempt to profit from such things.
Our purpose in life is simple...to tell the Truth of our Forbearers, to erase the lies told about Them by Their enemies; to awaken Their Children and bring them back to The Light, to destroy those who would, in ignorance and greed, lead them into Darkness, and destroy Their Eternal Spirits. This, too, is a thing that cannot be profited from, for if we attempt to profit from these things we will become like the very ones we despise, sink into the very pits that they have made for themselves.
Our Way is slower, our Way is harder, but it builds the Foundation of a Temple that will stand forever, rebuilt with the stones that were knocked down before by those who would fill their pockets with silver and gold. That kind builds nothing that ever lasts.
