The Ancient One sighed.  "The Father Of Your Soul" he answered "gave me the ability to temporarily shut down your abilities should the need arise.  It is a power I hoped I would never have to use, but I cannot permit you to change history!  What was must be, no matter how unpleasant, no matter how much we want to change it, what was must be.  If your Father gave me this power you must understand how much he respected my wisdom."
The Ax Man sighed.  "True," he answered, "Odin would have never given you such a gift if you did not have the wisdom to use it. Return my powers.  I will obey you.  I will not interfere."
The Ancient One waved his hand again, and The Ax Man retrieved his weapon.
"That's something I never expected!"  he snapped. "You've got to explain to me how you do that some time!"
"Not right now," The Ancient One answered, "we've got other things to deal with right now.  Let's get a move on!  This area isn't quite secluded enough."
They got back into the vehicle and headed for the country.
