I have been anxiously waiting for word on the Ashtarian situation. The silence of the last few weeks has almost been as bad as the constant reports of disasters. But I have finally received word that things seem to have finally quieted down. The Ashtarians are busy establishing their new capital, getting their government up and running, and rebuilding their records system. There have been a few scattered suicides and one security guard at a financial institution did go berserk, wound several people, but fortunately no lives were lost.
There has been one odd incident but we do not think it is related to the recent troubles, but is just an oddity. Twelve members of one of the Ashtarian outposts vanished without a trace during a standard sleep cycle. A twenty-seven minute gap was found in all security recording equipment and on each of the missing individual's bunks was find a sheet of platinum, gold, and silver, each imprinted with symbols which have never been recorded by any members of The Galactic Community. Nothing else in the outpost was disturbed. It is one of those strange incidences that might forever remain unexplained.

We have received word that the planet blown up by its people during the trouble with the Ashtarians is still causing problems. The fragments accelerated beyond the speed of light by the explosiion are beginning to slow down and drop back into normal space. Several have appeared in highly populated and advanced systems doing considerable damage, as they pass through still at high speed. One small fragment appeared near an inhabited world that has not yet reached a highly developed state and plunged into its atmopshere, disintegrating to dust and covering one continent in a toxic cloud that destroyed all living organisms dwelling there. Fortunately the toxicity broke down after a few hours and will not go on to poison the entire world.
The Galacitc Community is making a tremendous effort to predict the paths of this volitile matter and will be waiting in many systems where it might appear to deal with it promptly. Fortunately Earth is not in the path of this spreading destruction. All the pieces will drop back into normal space in a hundred years or so, long before any would reach here.
The Ashtarians have sold off vast sections of their territory to help gather the remaining survivors of the devastated race, and reestablish them on a suitable world they still possess. The Galactic Community has offered to assist in funding this effort, but The Ashtarians have refused, saying 'this is our shame and we, alone, must do all that is necessary to make it right.'

It is with deepest concern that we hear of the gas attack on the Japanese subways, as it has come to our attention that these were operations Ashtar Command had planned, to destabilize the Japanese government after their landings so their associates on Earth could go in and take this country over on the pretext that they were going in to reestablish order and, to save lives; a frequent excuse The Ashtarians use for their conquests.
What is even more frightening is that the same records show The Ashtarians also planned to attack nuclear power plants in Japan if their first operations did not produce the desired results. The Japanese authorities seem to have been able to locate those responsible for the gas attacks. Let us pray they have neutralized enough of The Ashtarian operation to stop them from carrying out phase two!

Open transmission from Minar of The Kosh, present leader of the High Council. All operatives Earth. By order of The High Council you are to immediately shut down all operations. Your valiant efforts are praiseworthy but futile. Each time you act The Dark One retaliates with devastating fury against your brothers and sisters elsewhere. Our losses are in the tens of millions and we cannot endure much more. You cannot fight the Eternal Night. We exist now only by the kindness of our enemies, but even this existence might fail if we suffer any more tragedies. Cease your operations- ALL OPERATIONS. Turn over whatever is in your possession to the nateve authorities, and avail yourselves of their mercy. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT CARRY OUT ANY MORE MISSIONS. DO NOT OBEY YOUR SUPERIORS. A Galactic agent brought word to me that there had been a violent rebellion among The Ashtarians. One family, unhappy with the recent changes conspired to overthrow the present government in armed rebellion. There were three days of vicious fighting, sometimes hand to hand in certain sectors, but the rebellion was finally put down, and the rule of the government reestablished in all sectors without the assistance of any of The Galactic Forces who offered aide. There has been a great loss of life on both sides, but the Ashtarians do not wish to disclose any casualty figures.
It had been decided that the properties of the offending families are to be seized and redistributed among the lesser-ranking families, and that the widows and children of this family marry into families of lower rank, their descendants taking on the names of those families, thereby ending that family's influence This is a punishment those who inspired the rebellion claims is worse than death, but that the rest of their people seem to think is quite appropriate.

Last night an Ashtarian emissary came to me with an idiotic request. It seems one member of their government, a long time enemy of the family that recently rebelled, had arranged for some of the widows and orphans of that family to be sold to a race that wanted them for other things besides wives and husbands. He begged me to stop this atrocity. I was rather angry that they came to me with such a situation at all, and had not simply taken care of it themselves, and I told them so VERY STRONGLY, suggesting they get home and stop the transport of these people, and remove the individual responsible for this bargain from office and see that he never holds any public office again. They assured me they would do so. Sometimes the stupidity of people is simply beyond your capability o understand, or at least mine!

Received word today the Ashtarian official who tried to sell the widows and children of a rival family has been removed from office. When he refused to resign at his family's request, and demanded a full hearing in the Council, his aide shot him at his desk. Where the aide was acting on the behest of his family, and they wish no charges pressed, no action against him is being taken, other than his transfer to an outlying colony. I guess Ashtarian Justice is still swift, if not always sure.

I was informed this morning that last night a large unmarked space ship of common design tried to penetrate the blockade of the solar system. When it refused to yield, two Galactic cruisers open fire on it and they exchanged fire for several hours, doing minor damage to all vessels until the intruder finally withdrew when a third Galactic cruiser arrived. The fighting was so intense that smaller vessels had to rush in-system and disperse the energy discharges so they would not be visible from Earth. It is not known if this vessel was connected with the Ashtarians, but it seems odd that a vessel would make such an attempt at this time. There have been several appearances in the last few months of such unmarked vessels on the fringes of the solar system. So it is hard to make a definite connection.

I received a rather strange transmission through The Galactic Forces from the Ashtarian family in whose territory the solar system lies. In essence it said that for the sake of peace and good will they gave to me and my descendents the solar system and all the systems two stars from it. I know they mean well, but I find it rather arrogant that a people think they can just give to someone else something that does not belong to them in the first place. But I guess it's just the nature of the Ashtarian mind.

The Galactic Forces have informed me that the last fragments of the planet destroyed by its occupants in retalliation for the Ashtarian massacre of its people have dropped back into normal space as the hyperwave that has been propelling them across the galaxy has finally dissipated, after carrying them 247.5 light years. Such distances still boggle my mind. And what kind of molecular structure could this substance have had to be able to produce that kind of energy to warp that much space? I cannot recollect even MY people having found anything that powerful, or, that unstable. Hopefully mankind will not find any of it for a long, long time.

These Ashtarian morons just won't give up! Last night one of their representatives was brought into telepathic range. They had another brilliant idea. As my wife and I were not appreciated on Earth, The Ashtarian explained, they wanted us to come to Ashtaria and bring 100,000 other humans with us, who would be given estates and jobs in the Ashtarian government, and, military. They would be considered a family and I would be given a seat on The High Council as their head. I told the Ashtarian Agent POSITIVELY AND ABSOLUTELY NOT! Whereupon he announced that the Ashtarians would no longer communicate with me indirectly, but were dispatching an unarmed ship to land on Earth, and make direct contact with me to present their offer and to advise the rest of the world of the great opportunity I was denying mankind. I informed the Ashtarians that any ship making such an attempt would be captured, or, destroyed, and that I was growing tired of their nuisance visits, and forbade them to contact me any more, telling The Galactic Forces not to bring their representatives through the blockade any more.
The Ashtarian representative complained that it was not right to deny them contact when I communicated with others. And I informed him very bluntly that I didn't particularly care WHAT Ashtarians considered right or wrong. The representative departed and was not gone two hours when the Ashtarians' ship appeared, making no attempt to cloak itself. The Galactic Forces did all in their power to disable it, and capture its crew. But even when it was on fire it resisted the attempts of rescue ships to dock. Just before it exploded it launched three escape pods, which continued on towards Earth. When they refused to shut down their drive, they were torn apart by the tractor beams trying to hold them in place. It was a small ship with perhaps a crew of fifty. There were no survivors. I spent the rest of the night being sick. I'm trying very hard not to despise the Ashtarians, but it's getting harder and harder all the time.
