North and his father were just going out of doors for a game of ball after supper, when the doorbell sounded.
"Now, who could that be?" General Star asked. When he opened the door he found a young Guard officer standing there.
"General Star?"
"Yes, what is it?" North's father sighed.
"I have an invitation, sir, for your son and wife to visit the Palace of The Lord God, especially his son and wife, Morning Star, and Golden One. Here is the invitation and their security passes."
The General stood for a moment, with mouth open. Such an invitation was unheard of! He took it and the I.D. cards proudly, and gave the officer a sharp salute.
"Thank you! Thank you very much!"
He noticed the officer's name and rank from his badge. He would send him an appreciation gift later.
The next day they received a call in the morning telling them that a flyer would pick them up and take them to the Palace as soon as they were ready. So began a friendship that would last for hundreds of years. But those early years went by swiftly, especially when the two boys entered school the next year. It was no time at all before North and Morn were anxiously awaiting their ninth Visitation Day.
