Yesterday was my mother's birthday. I went to
Google to search for her obituary as I couldn't remember her birth
date. I was shocked and amazed to find this web site.
My dad, aunt and grandmother on my mother's
side and my grandfather are buried here also. However my dad
doesn't yet have a gravestone, something I wish to remedy as soon as
possible. Many thanks to the people who are working on this
project. I wanted to send them a thank you email however couldn't
find a way to write to them. Anyway I signed up to use the site
for free. Wow, there's even a picture of her grave!
Blessings to those who are keeping memories alive through the internet.
It's kind of scary that Democrat Nancy Pelosi is predicting
Obama Care will not be canceled, that it will stay with a vote of 6 -
3. I hope it's only wishful thinking on their part.
Everybody is talking about the "Titanic" movie in
3D! I remember seeing it on VHS and it was a great movie!
Probably half the people that read this will think to themselves
"What's VHS?" because DVDs are so popular and have been around for so
long. I remember some time ago that Gerald reported in "Voices
From Spirit Magazine" that someone asked him if the victims of the
Titanic disaster watched the movie, and asked what they think of
it. He said some of them like to watch these new movies about
what happened and say things to each other during the film like "Oh
look! They've got that chair in the wrong place!" and stuff like
that. He says it's amazing they actually like these things, when
you'd think they'd prefer to stay as far away from them as they could
get. I bet they'll check out the new 3D version too!
As you know we can't stand The U.N. and think it's a
waste of money to keep running. However they reported recently that 2.4
million people around the world are victims of human trafficking at one
time, also that 80 percent of them are being exploited as sex
slaves! Two out of every three victims are women! $32
billion dollars a year is being earned by unscrupulous running human
trafficking networks! They say only ten per cent of police
stations have anything way to combat against trafficking. A law
professor at a Chicago university says he thinks it should be
reassessed who is the criminal and who is the victim. He is urging
people to do this, and that male dominated police departments need to
reassess their law enforcement policies if they consider this crime at
the lowest level of their law enforcement priorities. Better late
than never, I guess.
The UN now has a Voluntary Trust Fund for
trafficking victims and at the end of the general assembly meeting had
three generous pledges from Australia, Russia and Luxembourg. An
actress, Mira Observing is the UN good will ambassador against human
trafficking. Hopefully we'll see some major progress
against this horrible crime in the near future, and know that The UN
isn't just talking. We need action! Unfortunately the head of the
new UN Women department, for womens' rights, also promotes gender
equality. Disgusting! Something tells me they won't get
very far with this subject. Why do they always have to spoil things?
