I want to start off today by praising 81 year old Jim Hodkins of Kansas City for being a hero.  He jumped out of the second story window of the burning house, breaking his leg.  Then he immediately went back inside and rescued his wife Bertha who has Alzheimer's disease!  Leave it to us folks of the old school to know how to get things done!  Just glad he was there to help and they will be ok.
Let's just say cases like this one recently in Egypt make me wonder.  We already know about the terrible treatment of women there.  This is another incident that proves it.  An Egyptian military tribunal acquitted an army doctor who had been accused by a female protester of performing a test to prove she was a virgin on her while she was in detention in a military prison.  Actually seven women in all have accused military prisons of doing this test.  One of these women won a civilian court ruling last year against the doctor. It had been proven then that these tests were being done at these prisons, and it was ordered they be stopped   However the prosecutors this time only brought the doctor to court, and he has been set free with no punishment whatsoever!   The court said he didn't do the tests.  Their verdict can't be appealed.   Sounds definitely sexually biased to me.  Yet another reason not to want anything to do with Egypt now.
Leave it to California!  Some folks there have started a program called Nanny In The Clouds, a company now operating all over the world.  Their employees help take care of kids on planes, some even waiting for likely customers to come by at the airport!  It's reported they don't do background checks on the nannies, but they are required to have two references.  Many vacationing families are very grateful they are there to help. Hopefully no unscrupulous person will get the job, cause some incident and spoil it all.  Keep up the good work folks!   You gotta love the name too!  I think these people are very brave to want to fly on the planes and take care of strangers' kids too.  Oh, and the nannies have to have a ticket to someplace already before being matched with other passengers of course.
