An Open Letter From Speaker Linda Polley
God's Candidate For The First Lady Of The United States In 2,012
To The World

I am kind of out of it because Gerald's test results came back Friday.  He has cancer of the lymph nodes.  It's all through his body.  His doctor is still trying to find the source.   They are giving him a colonoscopy this weekend and an endoscopy.  Monday or Tuesday he will be moving into an assisted living center where he can get treatments.  He will have to share a room with another patient, and, a phone.  I'm sure somehow the work and campaign will continue.  He will be living closer to me.  I'm so irritated that some of our closest friends don't have much hope for him.  I do.  If he can get the cancer into remission he could be around for many years, the doctor says.  However for right now it's another mystery.  Sometimes life is so unfair.  He doesn't deserve all this.  He works so hard for God.  Some things even He can't prevent.
Speaking of God, He is sending out all the help he can to North Carolina, whose primary is May 8th in which they'll be voting on rather or not to keep gay marriage illegal in their state. We pray everyone stands strong and things stay the way they are concerning this sickness.  I've read in the news that in the five states where people will be voting on rather to make gay marriage legal or not which includes our own state of Maine, people are saying gay marriage will remain illegal.  Let's hope they're right.  Some of these states won't be voting on this until election day in November.  Whatever, we're doing all we can to encourage them to keep it illegal.  Now let's see what else is in the news.
More scary stuff!  Tea Party candidate Rick Beebe who was a candidate for the supervisor of elections in Highlands County Florida attended a Restaurant Forum, which was sponsored by The Tea Party, at which he answered several questions, sat back down, started sweating then fell to the floor.  A nurse that was there rushed to help him, then when they could do nothing called 911.  He was pronounced dead at 8:34 p.m. last Tuesday. Condolences to his friends and family.  These things happen.  It can be said that politics can be a little too much for some people, literally.
Apparently in the case of the hang glider owner who I reported on the other day, because a young lady fell out of her hang glider harness, fell one thousand feet and died, has been released from jail because let's just say the police have been able to acquire the video card evidence that he swallowed when arrested.  They believe there's a way to salvage what's on it.  Good luck with that!  That will be a miracle if they do.
You know things are pretty bad when a female coroner in Indiana shows up at a crime scene early Thursday reeking of alcohol and is arrested!  Her breathalyzer test shows that she had over twice the legal limit of alcohol in her system.  She is quoted to have said "It was just a bad choice."  The 49 year old had consumed three quarters of a bottle of wine the night before and arrived at the scene of an apparent suicide in her own car, not taking the coroner's van.  Fortunately a deputy coroner had showed up before her and done the necessary work.   Friday she was due in court on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and official misconduct.  I hope she got the book more than thrown at her!  I'm wondering if she'll still have a job.
Cindy Davidson the mother of two in Salt Lake City, Utah got a nasty surprise instead of a bargain when she bought a box of tampons.  In a cellophane package taped shut inside a cardboard applicator she found cocaine!  Her sister advised her to call the police instead of the manufacturer first.  The tampons are manufactured in The UK.  They've obviously been pulled from the shelves and the incident is under investigation. They're desperately trying to find out exactly where the illegal drug was put in the box.  What sick people there are out there to do something like this!  I hope they solve this mystery soon and justice is done.
Now here's one of the lowest of the low! A young woman in Phoenix, Arizona has been charged with theft.  She lied about needing a double mastectomy and breast reconstruction surgery to her former boss, mother and grandparents.  She said she didn't have insurance to pay for it.  Starting last September she organized fundraisers to help with this and raised $8,000.  Mesa police acquired her medical records with which they learned she doesn't have cancer, and she has paid a plastic surgeon in cash for breast implants!  She was arrested last Wednesday, however is now out on bond after a short court appearance.  Something has to be done. It doesn't seem right to me that she was released.  There needs to be tougher laws to handle these rip offs.  When my husband is in The White House I'm sure there'll be some changes made with this.
It's sad and discouraging to read just before Gerald called with his test results that one of the founding members of The Beastie Boys has died of cancer at 47.  When Gerald is 65 it makes you a little bit more worried when somebody far younger than him dies of cancer.
