Spells

First of all, let us consider what a spell is. Though some people would greatly argue with this statement, a spell cast in any form, is simply an elaborate form of prayer. It's purpose is to call the power of some particular Spirits that some people would call Gods. There are as many ways of casting spells as there are religions. Following, will be the instructions for the casting of three spells, one for healing, one for protection, one for vengeance, but before we give you these instructions, there are five pieces of basic equipment you will need.

1. A candle holder.

2. Candles, white, blue and red.

3. A sacred staff, or staff of Power.

4. Paper.

5. Pen.

The candle holder is a simple matter. It can be purchased or one that has been given to you as a gift. It should be large and capable of holding various sized candles. If you have difficulty putting small candles in a large candle holder, a smaller candle holder may be placed inside it for this purpose. Just make sure that this auxiliary candle holder fits well inside your larger one.
As to the candles, they can be either purchased or home made. Those made by your own hand are preferable, but be sure they burn well and are not apt to go out during the ceremony. One may use the candle holder from the family altar for this purpose.
The third item you will need, the Staff Of Power, is made from a shaft of wood between four and one half and five feet long, and one to one-fourth inches thick. It is best to cut this wood yourself from fallen timber, but be absolutely sure you have permission to cut it. Wood for a staff taken without consent, would make the staff powerless. All bark must be trimmed from the wood, and the surface sanded as smooth as possible, and the ends rounded off. If you cannot obtain wood in this manner, you may buy a dowel from a hardware store of these dimensions, but be sure to lightly sand all surfaces and round the edges yourself, and then the staff must be blessed in this manner;

Take a white candle and put it in your candle holder. Place it on the floor in the middle of the room. Light the candle, then say The Prayer Of Protection four times out loud, once at each point of the compass. Stand with your back to the candle and face North. Hold the staff horizontally and slightly over your head and repeat this prayer;

"Oh, Blessed Fathers and Holy Mothers of the North, oh Ancient Ones who have gone before, bless this staff with your power and fortify it with your strength."

Repeat this prayer facing all four points of the compass in turn, always keeping your back to the candle. Then, stand facing the candle and touch the small end of your staff to the candle flame and say-

"By the Light Of The Lords, I seal Their Power within this Staff."

Turn the staff over and repeat the same process with the other end. Place the staff before the candle holder and take a small paint brush and paint bought precisely for this purpose and write on your staff in the symbols at the end of this section your name and the words "Faithful Servant Of The Lords." If you know the symbols of Wicca or some other ancient teaching, it is perfectly permissible to use these instead, as they are all teachings of The Lords, though differently expressed.
Again place the staff before the candle and leave it there until the candle has burned out. Your staff is now completed and charged. It will serve you, and no other. It is like a battery, absorbing extra power for your use when you need it.

Paper--This may be any quantity of 8 1/2 X 11 inch white typing paper. It should be of a good thickness. Light paper will not suffice

Pen-- This is up to the individual, but whatever one chooses, whether the old fashioned quill type or the modern day felt tip which is just as good, this writing instrument must be sat aside for the writing of spells and should be kept in a concealed space near the family altar. It is best to store paper that is to be used for spells near the altar or beneath it. With this equipment you are now ready to cast the types of Spells we have before mentioned.
