Church By-Laws
Article 1
The name of this operation shall be (Place name here.)
Article 2
The purpose of this church is to bring a true Spiritist religion
into the world, such as existed on the planet Hades. The first
and most important statement of this church is; "WE BELIEVE
IN NO GOD AS A CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE. THAT NO ONE CAN SAVE A
PERSON FROM HIS OR HER WRONG DEEDS BUT THEMSELVES."
Article 3
As in ancient times our church shall acknowledge reincarnation,
and it shall be remembered that it is our ancestors, or,
individual spirits that we worship. That it is their governing
body, the Council Of Spirit, that gives us our authority.
Article 4; Membership
A.
1. Anyone wishing to become an associate member of the church may
do so simply by applying to the local church secretary for a
certificate. Full members must be 18 years of age.
In order to become a full member, they must first pass a test to
show that they know the church's laws and teachings, and sign a
statement that they're willing to follow them. They may then
apply to the church secretary for full membership. At the next
regular meeting, the church secretary will announce the person's
application, and ask if there are any objections to this person
being a member. If there are none, the secretary may give the
membership certificate to the church Speaker who may immediately
sign it and present it to the new member officially welcoming him
or her to the church. But if any member objects, and states a
reason why this person should not be a member of the church,
these objections can have nothing to do with the person's former
religion, or his past, or race. They can only pertain to laws of
the church that it is known this person breaks in their daily
life. In this case, the secretary will call for all members to be
present at the next meeting. At that time those opposing the new
member may present their opinions and the new member may give his
or her defense. Then, a vote is taken on the application. If the
proposed new member receives a 2/3rds vote of acceptance, the
church Speaker may then sign the certificate and welcome the
member to the church.
If not, the Speaker shall, as kindly as possible, express his
regrets to the proposed member and recommend that the person try
to change that which the church objected to, so that he or she
may become a member.
2. A service charge shall be asked of anyone wishing to become a
member of the church. This charge shall cover the cost of
preparing their certificate and their membership card. This is a
one-time charge, as the church membership card is good for life,
but it does not cover the alteration of a card and certificate
from associate member to full member. There is also a separate
service charge for this, as there is also for tests, and,
Teachers, Speakers and Healer's certificates.
3. A person may remain an associate member as long as they wish.
They are not required to become a full member. Also, if a person
is incapable of passing the membership test, they are not
obligated to leave the church. They may remain an associate
member as long as they follow the rules and regulations of the
church.
4. Associate members are still required to follow the rules and
laws of the church. They are subject to the same fines and
penalties for offenses as regular members. The only difference
being that if a Guardian Officer finds an associate member is
breaking the rules or by-laws of the church, he may issue one
warning to this person to cease this conduct, pointing out the
rule or by-law they are breaking. If this person still continues
this improper conduct, the Guardian Officer may then take
appropriate action.
5. An associate member may take part in all activities of the
church except voting or holding an officer's position, as they
have not yet passed a test to show that they understand the
church's laws and doctrines. They may serve as assistants to
officers of the church and may express their opinions at any
meeting.
6. A full member may vote in all church elections, and hold any
office for which they are qualified, as laid out in the by-laws.
