Obscenity
It shall be the purpose of every Christian to stop the
use of public obscenity in The United States. This is not a matter of
free speech, it is a matter of dignity and respect. The use of foul
language is only an expression of ignorance. People can express their
feelings without using obscenities,
without insulting others.
It is well understood that in some situations when a
person is extremely angry they may express themselves strongly. But to
use obscenity in every day language is not acceptable to the Christian,
and should not be
acceptable to any. And what is obscene is clearly understood. Any
references to intimate relations are obscene. Any references to body
excretions are obscene.
Any comparisons of a person to animals or any comparison of a person's
ancestors
to animals is obscene. To degrade any other person in any way is
obscene.
Truly there are some cases when individuals are doing things wrong you
must
point out what they are doing wrong, and some will consider this
obscene.
But there is a limit and the good Christian will know what that limit
is
and strive to bring decency back to our streets, to make it illegal for
children
to run in the street insulting their elders, for individuals to publish
music
that is filled with obscenities and to play it on the radio and
television
is unacceptable.
There comes a time when people meaning good go too far.
And those that promote obscenity in the name of free speech have gone
too far. It is simply unacceptable, and must be brought to an end.
