All Christians should support a system of welfare that in situations of emergency, takes care of those in temporary economic difficulty. But they should not support a system that causes those using it to become dependant on it, so that it becomes their life long occupation to stay on welfare. When long term welfare IS necessary, those receiving it should be required to do some work for it. Many public services could be provided by these individuals, while they are looking for long term employment. Any that will not provide these public services for the welfare they are receiving, who say "Oh, that's beneath my dignity, I'm too proud to do work like that!" should be denied public welfare.
