9 Morn smiled. "Do a good job! " he complimented, and walked away.
10 It didn't take North and The Lord God's brother long to reach the elder man's apartment. When they entered North found it strange. The walls were a peculiar color for a man's house, and the place smelled of perfume. But his attention was quickly drawn to the room filled with shelf upon shelf of books. Some were not even on film, but were actually printed on paper! These books were so rare North feared to touch them.
11 "Go ahead and browse," encouraged his host. "I will get some refreshment. Don't worry about handling the books. They're all well preserved. The more delicate ones have been sealed to protect them."
12 Taking down one of the volumes, North saw what his host meant. The fragile old paper pages had been placed between thin plastic sheets to keep them from decaying.
13 North had been browsing for several minutes when his host returned. He was so interested in the books he hardly noticed his host had changed his clothes and was now wearing a light, brightly-colored dressing robe.
14 "Here's one you might find interesting," The Lord God's brother told North. He took a large volume from the bottom shelf, carried it to a couch by the wall. Sitting down he laid the book on a table and opened it, motioning North to join him. "Have some milk and sweet cakes," he told the boy as he sat down.
15 "No, thank you," North replied, "my mother will be angry if I don't have a good appetite for supper. "
16 North opened the book that had been given him, and found it was very old, indeed ...a publication from one of The Dead Worlds. He couldn't understand the writing but there were many pictures of males and females with very little or no clothing. He marveled at how these beings looked. They had no wings or fur, but instead had soft, brown leathery-looking
