media tomorrow. Just thought you'd like to know what's going on.

Back with an update of my husband Speaker Gerald Polley's medical
situation. Thursday was the worst. He was supposed to take
the ambulance to the Bangor hospital and the nurses told me for two
days they'd talk to the ambulance crew and get them to let me ride up
there with him. I packed three outfits, and had my laptop with
me. Waited all day. Gerald was mostly sleeping except for once
and a while waking up and moaning, sometimes asking for help.
Then last minute the nurses told me I couldn't go in the ambulance to
Bangor with him because there was no place to stay up there. It
was heartbreaking. However I got home with a free cab ride, got a
shower and decided to go visit Gerald on the Ellsworth bus
Friday. I did it! I got there just fine, had a nice visit
with him though he was still freaky from the medicine, and got back no
problem. The doctors are working on getting rid of most of the
many pain meds he was on and sticking with Methadone.
When I got home I called to see how he was doing. To my surprise,
they said Gerald was opening his eyes now, drinking water and talking
to them! Thank you God! Now I hope he'll have a comfortable
night. That's when the gall bladder kicks in for some
reason. The doctor is seeing him tomorrow, another one, and will
call me with an update. I was so relieved to hear that
something was working I got myself a calzone delivered for supper, my
first one and I love it! Oh, his gall bladder. They're
trying to see what they can do to help it without surgery. Then if that
doesn't help they'll do the surgery. I had to sign a paper so he
could be readmitted to the Rehab Center when he's released. Also
wanted to mention he did have another heart attack at the Rehab.
They told me it's what's called a silent heart attack.
That's about it for today. I'm kind of late but wanted everyone
to know the latest reports about my husband Gerald. The campaign
continues! Hopefully next time I'll have more comments on what's
in the news.
