Back again with more comments on what's going on in
the news. Huggies the diaper company owned by Kimberly-Clark, has
apologized for their recent commercial and have pulled it from being
shown because it insults dads. In the commercial a voice says
that "Dads are the toughest test imaginable for Huggies and baby
wipes." This showed dads taking care of their own kids for five
days. After seeing the ad Dads actually petitioned the
company to take down the ad saying they're not stupid. I
agree. Most of them aren't anyway. Huggies even sent a
representative to the Dads 2.0 convention last weekend to
apologize for their mistake. It's good to see people taking
action for something when it bothers them, even with all the major bad
stuff going on in the world. I would consider this sexual
bias too. Glad the dads decided to speak up.
Sad to see there's human rights violations in Canada
concerning the Metis people. One woman Laurie Merrick, who is
employed by the city of Surrey, British Columbia has filed several
complaints of this that happened at her job in the city's inspection
services section, various times for twenty years. The city says
it has taken several steps to make sure its employees follow the
policies they have put in place against this sort of thing, that this
type of thing that happened to her would never happen again.
Unfortunately she continues to battle race discrimination, be insulted
by co workers and even a manager because of her aboriginal
ancestry. Now she has filed a complaint with the B.C. Human
Rights Tribunal. It appears she is being punished for what other
people are doing, because she's been transferred to another position in
the company and wants her old job back. I hope she gets her old
job back and the people who treated her badly are punished. As
far as I'm concerned the manager should've been put in jail, at least
he should've been fired and his employee too! There's no need of
calling people hurtful names because they're of another race than
you. Why can't we all try to get along on the job?
I agree with Gerald concerning the British
government banning the wearing of crosses. It gives even more
reason to boycott The Olympics in London, and travel there.
Angel Raich, who unfortunately is a famous marijuana
activist who took the federal government to The United States Supreme
Court for the right to use medical marijuana is dying of an inoperable
terminal brain tumor. Her husband is a lawyer who helped get her
the right. She was in the USCF hospital when she was
kicked out for using an inhaler to smoke marijuana. There is no
smoking of any kind allowed in the hospital. A news crew came in
and when they did she suffered a seizure and was transferred to another
hospital. Strangely enough she has filed a brief in support of
the state of Florida which is trying to overturn Obama Care! Like
Gerald says, though it's scary some creatures of Darkness are on our
side concerning some issues.
